Peavine Animal Hospital is seeking an Experienced Associate DVM to join our growing team as we expand our services for the Reno/Sparks community.

We are enhancing our hospital to provide weekend hours and urgent care services, elevating the level of veterinary medicine we offer pets and their families. We're looking for an experienced veterinarian who can work independently and help us achieve our growth goals.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supports excellence in client experience
  • Works collaboratively with Hospital Manager and Medical Director
  • Practices high quality, gold standard medicine
  • Examine, diagnose, and treat animals for general practice and urgent care
  • Perform surgical procedures including routine and complex surgeries
  • Demonstrate proficiency in dental procedures and diagnostic imaging
  • Prescribe and administer medications, treatments, and preventative care plans
  • Counsel pet owners on animal health, nutrition, behavior, and overall wellbeing
  • Interpret diagnostic tests and develop comprehensive treatment plans
  • Maintain thorough patient medical records and documentation
  • Provide urgent/critical care and emergency services
  • Work weekend shifts, particularly Saturdays, to support expanded services
  • Stay current with veterinary techniques, medications, and best practices

Requirements

  • Valid and in good standing licensed veterinarian within the state of NV (or eligible for licensure)
  • 3+ years clinical experience with ability to work independently
  • Strong clinical and surgical skills with sound medical judgment
  • Experience or strong interest in dental procedures and ultrasonography
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to handle varied caseloads including GP, urgent care, and surgery
  • Willingness to work weekends, especially Saturdays
  • Time-management and decision-making abilities
  • Professionalism and courtesy in all interactions
  • Enthusiasm for contributing to practice growth and service expansion
